Pennsylvania participates in the nationwide program Helmets to Hardhats that helps veterans and members of the military transition from active duty to careers in the construction trades. The building and construction trade unions, employers and joint apprenticeship training committees offer veterans more than 86,000 job-training and career-training opportunities.

If you are a veteran or a member of the military, National Guard or Reserve, there is no cost to participate in Helmets to Hardhats.  Pennsylvania veterans, Reservists and Guard members also have the advantage of being able to speak with a state director for Pennsylvania Chapter of Helmets to Hardhats by calling 1-800-381-7617 with questions or for help with the program.
